“Patterns of Matisse”

The inspiration for this garden was based upon the patterns & cut-out shapes created by the artist Henri Matisse. I used herbs/grasses & then embellished with recycled glasses, other man-made materials & mixed media sculpture. Click here for more photos.

Seattle, WA - “La Casetta”

It began as a dream of a painting on a wall, a painting that inspired travel to a place that I discovered was real, a place that nourishes the soul with its intoxicating beauty, light, colors, textures, tastes and smells. A place in the Italian countryside of Toscana that thrills the heart so, that when you leave you only dream of when you can be enveloped by her charms once again. Click here for more photos. Seattle, WA - “Le Havre to Louisville”

This garden was a melding of my mother’s French heritage and my father’s southern US heritage. The strengthening came from a bridging of the two, the French/the southern, the delicate & the strong, the refined & the unrefined, the juxtaposition of opposites that fuel my everyday life. It is with this melding of two worlds, I give you “The Living Room.” Click here for more photos. Northwest Flower &

Seattle, WA - “Thai Spirit House”

Spirit houses can be found on the grounds of many Thai homes. They house the spiritual guardians of the land. To honor these spirits, Thai people perform a daily ritual of placing rice, fruit, flowers & incense around the spirit house to ensure a happy home. I dedicated this spirit house made of bamboo, silk, leaves & flowers, to honor the thousands who lost their lives in the Tsumani, December 26, 2004. Click here for more photos.
